1-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)-3-Ethylcarbodiimide (EDC) (CAS: 1892-57-5) is a widely used carbodiimide coupling agent in bioconjugation chemistry. EDC activates carboxyl groups in molecules, facilitating the formation of amide bonds between carboxyl and amine groups.

EDC is a highly effective crosslinking agent widely used in bioconjugation chemistry. EDC has been extensively used in bioconjugation chemistry because it is highly efficient and does not produce toxic byproducts. EDC reacts with carboxyl groups in molecules, facilitating the formation of amide bonds between carboxyl and amine groups.
EDC is used as a carboxyl activating agent and activate phosphate groups in phospho mono and di esters. It is used in peptide synthesis, and in the preparation of antibodies like immunoconjugates. EDC plays a vital role for immobilization of large biomolecules in association with N-Hydroxysuccinimide. EDC is also used in the acylation of phosphoranes.
EDC is used widely in bioconjugation chemistry and has a wide range of applications in scientific experiments. EDC has been used to prepare peptide and protein conjugates, to immobilize enzymes and other proteins, and to crosslink nucleic acids and other biomolecules. EDC is also used in the development of drug delivery systems.
