Application:

trans-4-Methylcyclohexyl Isocyanate (CAS: 32175-00-1) is used as an intermediate for the drug Glimepiride. Glimepiride is a third-generation sulfonylurea long-acting antidiabetic drug, the main mechanism of its hypoglycemic effect is to stimulate the secretion of insulin by pancreatic beta cells, and to improve the sensitivity of the surrounding tissues to insulin. This product and insulin receptor binding and dissociation rate than glibenclamide for faster, less cause severe hypoglycemia. Its mechanism of action is through binding to a sulfonylurea receptor (a protein with a relative molecular mass of 6.5 × 104) on the surface of pancreatic β-cells, which binds to ATP-sensitive K +(KATP). The channels are coupled to cause the KATP channel to close, causing depolarization of the cell membrane, opening the voltage-dependent calcium channel, and the influx of Ga2 + to promote the release of insulin and inhibit the synthesis of hepatic glucose.
