2-Bromobutane (sec-Butyl Bromide) (CAS: 78-76-2) is an isomer of 1-Bromobutane, is used in the various organic synthesis, existing as a grignard reagent.
2-Bromobutane is utilized in the synthesis of non-nucleosides. 2-Bromobutane is used as a solvent as well as an intermediate in organic synthesis. 2-Bromobutane is an important raw material used to prepare Grignard reagent by reacting with magnesium. When the concentration of this product in the air is high, 2-Bromobutane has anesthetic effect.
Used as surfactant, pharmaceutical intermediate, used to make other chemicals.
