1-Bromo-2-Chloroethane is incompatible with strong bases, strong oxidizing agents and magnesium.
1-Bromo-2-Chloroethane is obtained by reacting chloroethanol with phosphorus tribromide. Add chloroethanol to the reaction bottle, cool with water, gradually add phosphorus tribromide Dropwise under stirring, control the temperature to 20-30℃, stir at room temperature for half an hour, heat reflux for 1 hour, cool, washing with 5% sodium hydroxide, removing the aqueous layer, washing to neutrality, washing with water, dehydration with anhydrous sodium carbonate, and fractionation of the obtained crude product were carried out, and the 106-108℃.
