Dodecylbenzenesulfonic Acid (Soft Type) (Mixture) (LABSA) (CAS: 27176-87-0) is used to make detergents, is currently the most important raw material for domestic civil detergent products. Various civil detergents produced by industrial linear alkylbenzene have the characteristics of strong detergency, good sterilization effect, no residue and no pollution.
The product has the action of detergency, moistening, foaming, emulsion, dispersion and brown viscous fluid in appearance with acidity.
It is non-flammable, quickly dissolved in water, not dissolved in normal organic solvent.
The product has strong absorbency.
It would be unclear viscous liquid after absorbed water.
(1) Raw material for cleaning products : laundry detergent powder, hair shampoo, bath shampoo, dish detergent and complex soap, dishware cleaner and toilt cleaner.
(2) It can be used as curing catalyst of amino baking paint, used for preparing various liquid and solid detergents.
(3) Used as raw materials for ammonium salt, sodium salt and calcium salt for the production of alkyl benzene sulfonic acid
(4) LABSA is widely used in a variety of detergents and emulsifiers, such as washing powder, daily-use chemical detergent, utensils detergents and textile industry of the cleaning agent, dye, electroplating industry, leather industry, degreasing agents and paper industry's de-coloring agent. Household detergents including laundry powders, laundry liquids, dishwashing liquids and other household cleaners.
Dodecylbenzenesulphonic acid is corrosive. When heated to decomposition or on contact with strong acids produces highly toxic fumes of oxides of sulfur. The toxicity and hazards of individual alkylbenzene sulfonic acids must be assessed individually [Kirk-Othmer, 3rd ed., Vol. 22, 1978, p. 45].
EYES AND SKIN: A 0.5% to 1% concentration in water caused significant irritation. The technical grade is corrosive and may cause irreversible damage to eyes and skin. INGESTION: Irritation of the mouth, esophagus and stomach. Diarrhea, intestinal distention and occasional vomiting.
