CHES (CAS: 103-47-9) is zwitterionic buffer useful in pH range 8.6~10.0. CHES is regarded as Good′s buffers for its self-buffering and biocompatible feature. It is widely utilized as a buffer which is used for investigations on pH-dependent processes in enzymology. It is used in protein stabilization and does not interact with metals. CHES has been shown to have an unusually high affinity for the iodoacetate binding site of liver alcohol dehydrogenase. Used as a transfer buffer for diffusion blotting and electroblotting; Effective crystallization solution for various proteins; Enzyme assay buffer; Binding buffer and eluent in cation exchange chromatography; Running buffer in capillary electrophoresis; Suitable for use with the Bicinchoninic Acid (BCA) Assay.
