Application:

Nicotinic Acid N-Oxide (CAS: 2398-81-4) is an organic compound with the formula (HO2C)C5H4NO. It is the N-oxide of Nicotinic Acid ((HO2C)C5H4N). The compound is a precursor to the popular drugs Niflumic Acid and Pranoprofen. Nicotinic Acid N-Oxide is prepared by oxidation of Nicotinic Acid or the hydrolysis of 3-Cyanopyridine N-oxide. Nicotinic Acid N-Oxide acts as a ligand and forms lead-carboxylate complexes having phosphorescent properties. Nicotinic Acid N-Oxide is a carboxylic acid organic compound, which can be used as a raw materials in the synthesis of pesticide and pharmaceutical intermediates. Nicotinic Acid N-Oxide can be also used in the study of hyperlipidemia.
