Application:

Lanthanum(III) Trifluoromethanesulfonate (CAS: 52093-26-2) is used in the Aldol reaction of silyl enol ethers with aldehydes. It is an effective catalyst for the Baylis-Hillman reaction. It also catalyzes Michael additions to methyl vinyl ketone in water. Used for the preparation of organolanthanum from organolithium, used in the synthesis of ketones from amides; a catalyst for the addition of amines and nitriles to form amidine products; a catalyst for glycosylation.
