Indium (CAS: 7440-74-6) is a fairly rare metal. Indium ingots are mainly used in the production of ITO targets (for the production of liquid crystal displays and flat-panel screens) due to their strong light permeability and electrical conductivity. This use is the main consumption area of indium ingots, accounting for 70% of the global indium consumption. Indium is a metal, extremely soft, extremely malleable and ductile.
