Hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO) (CAS: 107-46-0) is easily deliquescent, flammable, and has the risk of causing combustion when exposed to high heat, open flame, and strong oxidizing agents. Among all the silicone oils, Hexamethyldisiloxane possesses the lowest viscosity, the lowest surface tension, the fastest evaporation and the highest compressibility.
Hexamethyldisiloxane is used as a capping agent, a head sealing agent, a cleaning agent and a film release agent, and is mainly used as an intermediate in the production of organic chemicals, pharmaceutical chemicals.
Can be used as a hydrophobic agent, used for surface treatment of fiber fabric, insulation and moisture proof of radio parts.
Can be used as an important raw material for the preparation of silicone oils, silicone rubbers and pharmaceutical synthesis; Can be used as an analytical reagent, Gas chromatographic stationary liquid and hydrophobic agent; Can be used as a surface modifier for inorganic fillers or powders surface treatment; Can be used as a base fluid for personal care products and cosmetics with excellent spreading and volatility properties.
